Acne is a condition that affects many people including male and female adults. It is a condition, which can come as a result of using products that have major side effects.  Acne care can be done in several ways stop outbreaks and develop a more clear, smooth skin. The first step in handling acne requires the skin to be cleaned gently. Unfortunately, people with acne try to reduce the oil production and acne outbreaks on their skins by using strong soaps and scrubbing their skins, which in most cases worsens the problem.

Most doctors advice people with acne to wash their face or affected area twice a day and ideally use a mild cleanser such as proactiv products, which offer effective acne care. This is to avoid further skin reaction caused by skin care products and treatments such as those made from benzoyl peroxide, which cause rashes, scaly eruptions and irritation. Rough pads or scrubs should also be avoided and the skin should be thoroughly rinsed after washing. Sometimes, acne care requirements include changing the type of cosmetics one uses. People with acne are advised to choose their cosmetics wisely and use foundation, eye shadow, blush and moisturizers that are oil free such as proactiv products.

Squeezing, picking or pinching blemishes that are on the skin is a bad habit that leads to formation of scars. People with acne problems should avoid touching their skins all the time to prevent acne lesions from developing. Acne that has already developed should not be touched or rubbed. Men with acne problems can use safety or electric razors for shaving, which should be done lightly to avoid nicking blemishes. Using benzoyl peroxide treatments makes the skin turn scaly or red and some people are not even able to apply foundation when they begin treatments made from this peroxide. On the other hand, products made from salicylic acid and retextra such as proactiv are powerful treatments, which provide fast results for and aid in acne care.
